That summer I was talking about last week has very clearly disappeared: it’s 100% bobble hat season (Ehem…). Racing, nevertheless, continues for the FoT gang across all sorts of disciplines.

First up was Sarah Lewis at the ETU Middle Distance Champs in not-so-sunny Ibiza. Despite crazy wet and wild conditions, Sarah battled through to claim the silver medal. Congrats Sarah!

Also racing middle distance this weekend was Ceri Ruzzi, who had her comeback tri at Ironman 70.3 Turkey. Ceri had a really strong race, coming in under the 5 hour mark and taking 5th in her age group. Well done!

On the single sport front, a handful of club members decided that the extra hour of sleep we all got Saturday night/Sunday morning was best used not sleeping, but rather cycling in circles around Windsor Great Park as part of the Redbull Time Laps. Brannigan Barrett, Jack Bishop, Guido Hakkenburg and Jamie McCanny made up an all male team, while Stephanie Wise and Nick van Praag were members of a mixed team and Natalie Creswick was a member of an all women’s team. Congrats to Natalie for taking the fastest female lap of the event, and to her and her team for taking the Women’s team title. Congrats also to Nick and Steph for taking 3rd in the mixed team title. Well done to everyone who raced, braving some interesting conditions to complete the 25 hour event!

On foot, Xavier Faux and Sybille Schorm did the Last Friday 5k in Hyde Park on Friday.
