Race Results w/e 11th and 18th November

Although it’s been a while, I haven’t forgotten the brilliant racing that has happened over the past couple of weeks.

For starters, there was the second round of Surrey League Cross Country. On the Women’s side, a strong team of 15 showed up to race on a stunning Autumn morning in Nonsuch Park. Well done to Paula Rutherfoord, Ursula Hankinson, Ruth Purbrook, Christina CJ Archer, Ceri Ruzzi, Anna Henderson, Steph Ede, Lindsay Aqui, Steph Wise, Jane Osborne, Jane Dwyer, Krista Kojecky, Sian Morgan, Helen Fagan, and Gina Siebler. Huge congrats to Paula for destroying the competition and taking 1st place in the race, securing herself a spot on the county team. The placed 3rd in the league, putting us at 3rd overall after 2 races, within striking distance of 2nd, and well ahead of 4th.

On the Men’s side, a small but strong contingent headed out to Epsom Downs for their race. Well done to Euan Lees, Alexie Calvert, Xavier Faux, Dave Bulmer, Dom Masters, Guido Hakkenburg, Mark Benton, Jon Green, James Ogilvy, Richard Bridger and Peter Moore. A shout out also to Euan, who not only came in first for the club in Epsom, but also completed his 100th ParkRun earlier that day.

Away from XC, well done to Carolina Lanza for her half marathon in San Sebastian.

Last weekend, there was also quite a bit of good racing. Well done to Nick DeBouillane, Shaun Wood, and Jonathan Saunders for strong racing at Ironman Langkawi. Although it wasn’t the perfect race for all due to some mechanicals, nevertheless the guys put in strong performances in hot conditions.

On the single sport front, well done to Euan Lees, Enrique Pinel and Emma Guthrie on the Adidas Fulham 10k (and recruiting Alistair Brownlee for the club…)

Well done also to Katie Wright who completed an 84k trail run down in New Zealand.
