Race Results W/E 7 October 2018

It was yet another busy weekend of racing, with a few late season triathlons, some adventure multi-sport swim-runs, and a lot of just plain runs!

First up on Saturday was Shaun at Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote. Having had a pretty tough race at Weymouth in September, Shaun was out to test himself in less grim environs. Shaun put in a solid race on a tough course. Well done!

Closer to home, Haukur Heimisson and Shane McCauley went up to the Lake District to race in the Breca Coniston Swim-Run. Well done to the pair for completing the 18km of running and 3km of swimming involving 10 transitions between the two sports.

Jack rocking his medal from Ironman Barcelona

On Sunday, Jack Bishop raced at Ironman Barcelona. Congrats on completing your first Ironman!

Paula smashed the Chicago Marathon, posting a new PB

Over in the US, congratulations to Paula Rutherfoord for completing the Chicago Marathon in blisteringly fast new PB of 2:53. Back in the UK, congrats to Deepa for her birthday half marathon at the Bournemouth Half. Up in Oxford, well done to Guido Hakkenburg, Julia Weall, Brannigan Barrett, and Lea Burek for racing at the Oxford Half Marathon. Particular congratulations for Guido for setting a new PB and breaking the 1:30 barrier, posting a 1:28!

Turning our gaze to next weekend, I know everyone is excited for the big endurance event in beautiful scenery on a small island that is known for its amazing weather: yup, you guessed it, CROSS COUNTRY! If you haven’t already signed up, now is your chance! You wouldn’t want to miss out on the cake, I mean run, now would you?
