Race Report W/E 16th February

With Dennis hot on the foot of Ciara, who would have thought we’d have any racing this weekend. Well, we did. One mildly intrepid soul on Saturday, and two far more adventurous / foolhardy club member on Sunday – both running.

But before we dig into the weekend’s stormy exploits – it appears that one of our sub-radar club members (soon to be long distance club member) was racing last weekend in a Crit (Criterium) cycling race. For those that missed one of our previous 2020 reports, these are lap-based group pack cycle races with a complicated points and elimination system. You can read all about Heather Mayer’s experience in her blog post below. And, if you fancy doing one yourself, there are a plethora of such races on offer – including the series that Joe Coleman tool part in at the Olympic Park earlier in the year. Don’t be daunted by Heather’s report – these races are for all abilities, though your tactics would probably differ.
