I know you are going to say “don’t talk about the reward before the effort” … but I am the guy who does triathlons so I can eat all the cheese in the world … Anyhow, don’t forget to put the date in your diaries: End of XC dinner will be on Saturday 10th Feb following on from the final XC races. Full details to be announced HERE.

Talking of cross country, the ladies were back in action! It was XC #3 for them. Wimbledon Common was the venue and high were the energy levels. A great (if slightly longer than usual) course, with mud, hills and twist & turns. Ruth Purbrook was first home for the club! Well done to everyone that took part: Alice Honnywill, Amy Ellerker, Annabel Kukulski, Charlene Feeney-Seale, Cheryl Boshi, Christina Jenkins, Claire Wood, Emma Swinnerton, Heather Mayer, Jane Dwyer, Jane Osborne, Jill Walsh, Katherine Marsh, Lucinda Springett, Lucy Orhnial, Natalie Creswick, Nicola Anderson, Ruth Mcintyre, Ruth Purbrook, Sally Benton, Sarah La Hausse De Lalouviere, Sian Morgan (Happy birthday!), Suzie Rylatt, Sybille Schorm, Tamsin Ede, Jane Osborne, Ceri Ruzzi and Ursula Hankinson (both making their competitive return). Great supporters too!

Although not part of our club, it was worth noting that by winning the XC3, Sophie Grace Harris, of Belgrave, became the 1st person in 30 years to win 3 consecutive Surrey League races. She is solidly on course to become the 1st person ever to win all 4 races … Turn up on Saturday 10th Feb to be part of this historical moment or maybe to try and change the fairytale ending.

Geoff Maher ran a superb 37min (and 1 second) 10k to get bronze at the Bushy Park 10k. Congrats. Now get your derriere to XC on Saturday 10th Feb 😉

Right, I am off to play with bright plastic toys and cuddly bears.
