Race Results W/E 19 August

A big weekend of racing this weekend. Starting us off at the long end of the game were Jonny Williams, Julian Beazley and Phil Johnson out at Ironman Copenhagen. Jonny had an outstanding race, finishing in 9:31. While this is impressive for anyone, it’s particularly impressive for someone who had knee surgery in January, tore a shoulder ligament in the spring, and got a stress fracture in his foot four weeks before this race. Congratulations Jonny! Also congrats to Julian and Phil for completing their first Ironman races.

Meanwhile in Ireland, Lisa Bartley raced Ironman 70.3 Dun Laoghaire. Congrats to Lisa for finishing her first 70.3 after a long time battling a foot problem.

Closer to home, Will Manns, Martin Bruwer, Trin Head, Marcus Dimmock, Guido Hakkenberg, Amy Jordan, Nick Crandon, and Nicola Anderson took on the Monster Middle. Congratulations to Trin for coming in 3rd woman overall, and well done everyone for strong races!

On the single sport front, well done to Sian Morgan and James Ellis took on the Tour de Mon in Wales, Jon Green and Heather Mayer raced the Reading Cycle Club 50 TT. Jon took 5th overall in 1.52.16, while I took first woman in 1.57.10.
