Race Report W/E 21 April
A busy weekend: the sun visited; beer gardens filled; the Easter bunny painfully laid many egg shaped sweets; and, several of the club honoured the unofficial tradition of visiting the beach at Brighton.
But (thankfully – given this week has seen me starting a new contract and moving flats) not many races occurred.
In fact, my spies tell me just one triathlon took place with a Ful-on-tri club member out racing.
Cannes Triathlon – Middle Distance +
The Cannes International Triathlon was originally supposed to take place next weekend, but one of those typical organisational misses saw it needing to be rescheduled to Easter Sunday. Presumably this meant an integrated Easter egg hunt?
The race itself is not quite middle distance. For the most part it is longer, with a 2km swim and a 107km cycle, instead of the normal 1.9km and 90km legs. However, some respite is provided in a slightly shorter 16km run leg (5km under the typical half marathon).
Club member Herve Vignalou rose up on Sunday morning to race and finished in a very respectable 6hr 52min. Hopefully the Easter chocolates will have allowed him to refuel post race.
Things will be back up and running race results wise from next weekend onwards.
As usual, email fixtures@fulontri.com if you or someone you know has been missed out.
