Race Report W/E 5th January
Happy New Year, and welcome to a new decade! Hopefully we’ve all rested and returned fresh, if not a little heavier and in need of our well run training sessions.
Some of the club kick started their calendar year’s racing this weekend (I’m guessing it offsets the depression of taking down the decorations). All running related this time around.
Don’t forget the club AGM coming up on 27th January, at which stage you do in fact have the opportunity to take on committee roles (including this one – which, although I’m not planning on stepping down, if you’re tired of my writing you can present yourself as an alternative candidate for). Do read the role descriptions first.
Battersea Park, RunThrough 5k
Lucy Orhnial and Ruth Macdonald were out on Sunday, racing around a 5k in Battersea Park.
Both finished either side of 30 minutes and well within the middle of the field of 157 runners, with Ruth just coming in across the line first!
Middlesex Cross Country Championships
Just as close to home, in Wormwood Scrubs (the park, not the prison!), John Borton was taking part in the Middlesex Cross Country Champs – a 12k race.
Out of a senior men’s field of 166, John finished 26th in an impressive time of 47min!!
Great racing by all!

And do keep your suggestions coming of any missing races on the Race Calendar (instructions went out before Christmas if you’re still in the dark).
