Race Results W/E 10 June
Another wonderful weekend for some racing, and our club continues to post incredible results!
But firstly, going back to last weekend I forgot to mention that Jonny Williams completed Ironman 70.3 Durban, his first race after a knee surgery earlier this year, and managed not only to secure himself a slot for the World Champs in South Africa, but also single handedly to put Ful-on Tri on the Tri Club Podium, taking second place in our division! Well done Jonny.
Earlier this week, Jamie McCanny, Jon Green and Guido Hakkenberg all raced the first Shepperton Open Water Swim race, all three taking on the 3km distance. Well done!
Over the weekend, the big event was Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire. Congratulations to Sandy Reid, Amy Ellerker, Dante Mama, Gareth Read, Janice Hardman, Lea Burek, Luke Carey, Luke Hardman, Mark Sempers, Martin Bruwer, Rich Harper, Richard Thomspon, Shaun Wood, Sybille Schorm, and Will Manns for some quality racing. Particular shout out to Amy for taking an age-group poudium in her first half-ironman, to Sandy for his South Africa qualification, and to Rich for a 7-minute half Ironman PB. Moreover, this group won the Tri Club Division III award for the race. Well done all!
(On which note, please make sure your Ironman account is linked to Ful-on Tri so that your results count toward the club awards. Actually, this goes for all races, and it also makes it easier for me to find you!)
Pierre Roussel raced down in Eastbourne, putting in a solid performance at the Eastbourne Sprint Triathlon.
Congratulations to Euan Lees and James Whetman, who teamed up to race the Otillo Scilly Swim-Run this weekend.
On the single sport front, Brannigan Barrett, Deepa Bala, Dominic Masters, Jack Bishop, Jackie Curley and Tamsin Ede took part in the King of the Downs sportive, while Tamsin Booth, Charlie Elliott, Rob Gray, Kyla Moore, James McCormack, Lucy Orhnial, Mark Parrett and Victoria Pitcher rode the Wiggle Dragon Ride.
