Race Results W/E 22 July

Another sunny week in England, and I’m beginning to wonder if England hasn’t drifted out of Europe into the tropics. Fortunately for us, this makes for great triathlon weather, and Ful-on Tri-ers are taking advantage.

First up this week were Haukur Hemisson, James Ellis, Sian Morgan and Tom Scott at the Standard Chartered 5k in the city. Well done all, and especially to Haukur and Tom who both posted PBs (just 1.5 and 2.5 weeks after an Ironman respectively, and 2 days after the club championships…because that’s how you do recovery…).

Rob, John, Emma, Alexie and Christian in Tartu

Moving forward to the weekend Saturday, some intrepid FoTers went off to represent Team GB at the ETU Championships in Tartu. Well done to Alexie Ansari, Christian Bergara, Emma O’Neile, John Borton, and Rob Argles on great races! And well done to John and Rob for coming 6th and 8th in their age groups respectively, and qualifying for next year’s race!

Colin on the bike course at the Castle Howard Triathlon

Sunday brought with it the Castle Howard Triathlon, and Colin McCaffrey completed his first triathlon, racing the standard distance, while Katherine Montserrat came 4th overall in the Sprint Plus Distance. Congratulations!

Also on Sunday, well done to Julian Beazley and James Evans who completed the Maldon Olympic Triathlon.

Sapna and her new bottle opener from the Henley Club to Pub swim

On the single sport front, well done to Sapna Sekhri for completing the Henley Club to Pub swim.

Finally, for all those who didn’t see, some FoTers were rubbing shoulders with the cycling super stars. Photo of the Tour goes to Jamie Woodland, who got a selfie with current Tour leader Geraint Thomas.
