Race Results w/e 4 March

By Heather Mayer

Welcome back to all our Lanzarote friends. I will admit to having been rather jealous as I looked on my Strava/Instagram/Facebook feeds last week to find photos of the sun and see evidence of long rides that didn’t involve wearing 500 layers. I hope you’ve all had a great week, and I am sorry you missed out on the chance for snowball fights, wintry runs, and hours on the turbo as we endured the Beast from the East.

I will also thank you for finally giving me a multisport event to write about this week! On Wednesday, a number of our club members took part in the Club La Santa Aquathlon (the bike leg was removed due to winds). Well done to Chris Brown, Colin Frew, Dante Mama, Emilie Quinn, Haukur Hemission, Jon Green, Lucinda Springett, Rich Curling, the aptly named Team Eimear, comprising Justin Cunnew and Tamsin Ede, and Team 265C, comprising Sarah La Hausse De Lalouviere and Katie Wright. Particular shout out to Emilie on finishing her first multi-sport event!

Back in colder climes, this weekend was the weekend of the half marathon. Congratulations to Enrique Pinel, James Ellis, and Carolina Lanza on finishing the Big Half here in London, to Luke Carey on finishing the Cambridge Half, and to Emma Guthrie on finishing the Semi de Paris. Well done in particular to Enrique, James and Emma, who all posted half marathon PBs.

P.S. As you might have noticed, I’ve added some photos this week. If you have any race photos, please feel free to send them to me at fixtures@fulontri.com, and you too can feature on this page! Otherwise I’ll be scouring social media for your best (worst) #painface.
